RHP Associate runs the Paris Marathon and raises over £600 supporting hospitality training for youths in Cambodia.

Last weekend our Associate Kristina Bull visited Paris! Not one to take a tour bus to see the sights she put on her running shoes and ran!

Over the last few months through grit and determination, and in between project managing and being Mum, Kristina has trained to take on the 26.2 miles in the wonderful setting of Paris.

The run started at the Avenue des Champs-Elysees, downhill towards the Place de la Concorde before turning into Rue de Rivoli. Passing along the way some of Paris’ most famous sights including the Louvre, the Place de la Bastille, the Seine, the Pont Neuf and the Eiffel Tower. Kristina finished the race just under 5 hours and on completion she says:

“Well it is complete, I finished the Paris marathon in 4hrs 50mins, slightly slower than anticipated but the hot weather and pre-race illness got the better of me! It was a great experience and an amazing way to see Paris. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting me, it is greatly appreciated. Post-race Paris was beautiful, there was significantly more champagne drinking than sightseeing!”

By running the race Kristina has raised over £600 for Harnessing Opportunities through Play and Education (www.hopeforcambodia.org.uk) and her page is still open should you wish to show your support www.justgiving.com/Kristina-Bull.

The funds will be spent at grass root level supporting vocational training for young adults in the tourist hub of Siem Reap, Cambodia. Jo Hansen, Project Officer, at RHP set the charity up in 2008 whilst living there, her aim is to build a bridge between poverty alleviation and tourism.

We are hugely supportive of Kristina and Jo’s efforts in going that extra mile in their own time, these are the values the RHP aspire to.
